TAPE 171

Quality: EX (Master Convert)

Length: 3 hrs (2 DVD)

STARRCADE '86 - 11/27/86 (This is the long-rumored, never-seen New Zealand commercial tape release of Starrcade '86. This is twice as long as the US comm. release and includes matches that were never released in full in the US. This is a conversion from a master VHS comm. tape, so quality is EX. Note that you get a bit of the "PAL to NTSC" look with this one as well. A must-have!)
Brad Armstrong vs Jimmy Garvin (this match has some lines through it for awhile) Baron Von Raschke & Hector Guerrero vs Pez Whatley & The Barbarian Ivan Koloff & Khrusher Khruschev vs Dutch Mantell & Bobby Jaggers (No DQ) Rick Rude vs Wahoo McDaniel (Indian Strap match) Sam Houston vs Bill Dundee Jimmy Valiant vs Paul Jones (Hair vs Hair) Ronnie Garvin vs Bubba Rogers (Louisville Street Fight) Dusty Rhodes vs Tully Blanchard (Clipped - First Blood Match - This is the only incomplete match on this tape and, not only that, but they cut ALL THE GOOD STUFF. All the pre-match angle with Tully wearing headgear and JJ getting busted open is clipped. BOOOOOOOO. Tully wins NWA World TV title.) Road Warriors vs Midnight Express (Scaffold match - Bubba Rogers screws up and doesn't catch Cornette on his bump, causing Cornette to legit blow out both of his knees.) Rock & Roll Express vs Ole & Arn Anderson (Cage - This is "How to make your champs look bad" 101. Ole & Arn dominate the entire match until, of out of nowhere, the R&R score a lucky pin. Not good.) Ric Flair vs Nikita Koloff (Bad finish as we get a non-pinfall finish in the main event of the biggest NWA show of the year. Yeah, it was supposed to be Magnum winning the title here, but so what? Somebody should have gotten pinned here.)
