TAPE 407

Quality: EX (Master Convert)

Length: 2 hrs (DVD)

HALLOWEEN HAVOC '90 - 10/27/90 (This is the commercial tape version of the show. This is a really solid tape once they cut out all the crap matches from the PPV. Everybody works hard and the crowd is pretty lively. I've got a master convert so quality is perfect.)
Tommy Rich & Ricky Morton vs Midnight Express (this MAY be slightly clipped; I gotta tell you, there's no way, even in a screwy finish, that the Midnights should be jobbing here) Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin vs Chris & Mark Youngblood RICK & SCOTT STEINER VS NASTY BOYS (Great match! Nice and stiff, with lots of back & forth action, including some stiff chairshots. Not sure, but this match may be clipped. It doesn't seem to be, but they announce "20 minutes" after only 17 minutes of video have gone by. It isn't beyond the NWA to lie about that stuff, but it's certainly possible the match is clipped.) Ric Flair & Arn Anderson vs Doom (The Horsemen carry Doom to something watchable!) Stan Hansen vs Lex Luger (I'm not positive, but I think this might be the only clean job that a babyface Luger has ever done in his career. I remember being stunned several years ago when I saw the finish of this match for the first time. Luger jobbing clean? WOW. Hansen wins the US title.) Sting vs Sid Vicious (This is the "Fake Sting" angle. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but I think this could have been great. The idea is that Vicious and Sting fight to the back and then return to the ring where Vicious quickly pins "Sting" to win the NWA world title. Quickly thereafter, the real Sting appears and the match is restarted, with Sting getting the win. Turns out Vicious had pinned Barry Windham, made up to look like Sting - very well, I might add. They shoulda had Vicious keep the belt and had Sting claim that he had been cheated out of it and kept it a mystery as to what really happened. At least, that's what *I* would've done.)
