TAPE 556
Quality: EX (Master Convert)
Length: 3 hrs (2 DVD)
WCW SATURDAY NIGHT - 11/7/92 (Extra-long episode of WCW's flagship TV show - the one that gave
WCW its name. This is great stuff from the Bill Watts era, with solid storylines and
good action. Jake Roberts does a solid job on commentary throughout this episode as
well. I've got a master, so VQ is EX!)
Kensuke Sasaki vs Chick Donovan
Johnny B Badd vs Bob Starr
Interview w/Johnny B Badd (Scotty Flamingo - who would later go on to become Raven -
comes out and punches Johnny. Fun to see Raven, a guy who's so full of himself
and his character, playing such an effeminate gimmick.)
Steve Austin vs Rick Nelson
Interview w/Erik Watts Re: His training (includes footage of him training with Masa
Chono, Kensuke Sasaki and Hiro Matsuda. Cool stuff, but who trains in an empty
arena? Don't most guys train in a gym?!)
Joe Maggs vs Bob Cook ("Battle of the Underdogs")
Steve Williams vs Owen Strong
Robby Walker vs Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker
Erik Watts vs Michael Hayes
Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas vs Tex Slazenger & Shanghi Pierce
Rick Rude vs Barry Windham (Excellent match! King of Cable Tournament match)
Sting vs Brian Pillman (King of Cable)
Interview w/Vader (They turn Vader legit breaking Joe Thurman's back into an angle with
this interview, with Vader being confronted by Ricky Steamboat. If nothing else,
Bill Watts sure knows how to book monster heels. Includes a video clip of Vader
powerbombing Thurman and injuring him.)
