NWA FINAL CONFLICT: THE CAGE MATCH (Second disc in the incredible 2-disc set put out by Jim Nelson. The footage here is all pro-shot, taken directly from Nelson's masters. This is truly one of the great finds of the last few years. I've got a DVD copy, so VQ is EX.)
Welcome to Greensboro Coliseum, 3/12/83 National Anthem, 3/12/83 Jerry Brisco vs Ken Timbs, 3/12/83 (There's a rolling line in the picture here) Promo for 4/3/83 card Mike Rotundo vs Black Bart, 3/12/83 Another promo for 4/3/83 Jim Nelson & Johnny Weaver vs Gene Anderson & Red Dog Lane, 3/12/83 Roddy Piper vs Dick Slater, 3/12/83 (The predecessor to the "Dusty Finish". Piper appears to win the NWA TV title at the 17 minute mark. However, the TV title is only at stake for the first 15 minutes, so he doesn't get the title. Mind you, that 15-minute part isn't announced to the fans, who think the match is a straight 60-min time limit match. Total BS that was repeated over and over in the 1980s.) Ricky Steamboat & Jay Youngblood vs Sgt. Slaughter & Don Kernodle, 3/12/83 (Cage - Steamboat & Youngblood win NWA World tag titles; Blowoff cage match that drew so many people they TURNED AWAY 10,000 fans at the arena. Good match with tremendous heat. The fan celebration alone is a must-see. This is the Nelson version of the match WITH THE PINFALL EDITED IN. You miss NOTHING from the match. There is a slight drop in VQ for the pinfall, but not much. The lower VQ only lasts 12 seconds and then the great VQ returns again. Great stuff!) The original 12-second gap (the footage that got recorded over top of the pinfall in Jim Nelson's original tape of the cage match) Ricky Steamboat & Jay Youngblood vs Jack & Jerry Brisco, 1983 (JIP) Jack Brisco/Jim Nelson brawl (Jack & Jerry injure Nelson & attack Jimmy Valiant) Ric Flair vs Jim Nelson (JIP)
