TAPE 1116

Quality: EX (*MASTER*)

Length: 2 hr (DVD)

CLASH OF CHAMPIONS 1: 20TH ANNIVERSARY - 3/27/88 (This is the 24/7 version of the first Clash. To highlight this historic event on its 20th anniversary, they bring in a few of the participants and have them recount memories, etc. Pretty cool. Also very nice to finally have this event in DVD quality - and complete, unlike the comm. tape version.)
Jimmy Garvin vs Mike Rotundo (Amateur Rules - after the match, Kevin Sullivan & Rick Steiner help Rotundo triple team Garvin until Precious comes out of nowhere with a 2x4 - wtf - and hits Steiner with it. She then chokes Sullivan with his coat hanger.) FANTASTICS VS MIDNIGHT EXPRESS (Quite simply, this is the greatest sub-10 minute match ever. Just a wild brawl with tons of action. What's incredible is that the Fantastics had JUST debuted 2 weeks earlier and they're already incredibly over and the fans are HOT for this feud. Awesome!) Interview w/Jim Cornette & "Eddie Haskell" (The "New Leave it to Beaver" was new on TBS in 1988 so we got this + "Haskell" as a judge in the Flair match. Ugh. This would be one of the items left off the comm. tape originally. There's a few other interviews as well.) Announcement of Top 10 Seeds for 1988 Crockett Cup Tournament Dusty Rhodes & Road Warriors vs Barbarian, Warlord & Ivan Koloff (Barbed Wire match - LOL, they call this a "Chicago Street Fight Texas Barbed Wire" match. WTF?) Barry Windham & Lex Luger vs Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard (Windham & Luger win the NWA World tag titles to one of the bigger pops you'll ever see.) RIC FLAIR VS STING (This is the full, unedited version of this match. I hate the ending with the fans getting screwed despite the promise of "there must be a winner" but the rest of the match is great. Both guys really stepped up here.)
