TAPE 1154

Quality: VG/EX

Length: 79 min (DVD)

NWA WORLDWIDE - 9/14/85 (More from this great season of Worldwide. This episode is slightly edited with a match or two missing. Quality is VG/EX.)
Jimmy Valiant takes Rocky King under his wing (they show a clip fo Jim Cornette slapping King over and over. Valiant refers to himself and King as "street people". The racial overtones are overwhelming here. It never ceases to amaze me how much frigging air time was given to Valiant in 1985 and how EVERYTHING HE DID SUCKED. This angle blows, there's no possible positive outcome here, Valiant sucks in the ring, King is green as grass, and the whole thing is a racist pile of crap. ARGH, just shoot me now!) Abdullah the Butcher vs Lee Ramsey Jimmy Valiant & Manny Fernandez vs Mark Fleming & Jim Jeffers Tully Blanchard, Ole & Arn Anderson vs Ron Rossi, Gerald Finley & Vernon Deaton Rock & Roll Express vs George South & Golden Terror (Like 2 seconds are shown) Midnight Express vs American Starship Eagle & Mac Jeffers Sam Houston attacked in the parking lot (Perfect example of something that JCP got right - REALLY right. They work this in an incredibly realistic way - no cameras around for the actual attack, real confused/disorganized announcers, etc. David Crockett runs out to the parking lot where there's chaos. He's trying to figure out what's going on; meanwhile, fans legit keep running up or shouting out what they saw happen. Awesome!)
NWA WORLDWIDE - 9/21/85 (More of the same as above. This one is also slightly edited with a match or two missing. Quality is VG/EX.)
Magnum TA vs Mac Jeffers JJ Dillon & Buddy Landel attacking Terry Taylor, Mid-Atlantic, 9/85 Jimmy Valiant & Rocky King vs George South & Jim Jeffers Magnum TA video "Wind Beneath My Wings" (This is more a video tribute to Magnum's mom and is sung by a guy rather than the well-known Bette Midler version) Magnum TA video "Born to be Wild" (To remind everybody that TA is a MAN'S MAN, we get this video of him lifting weights and riding a motorcycle - also includes film of him wrestling in high school and he introduces his mom) Ole & Arn Anderson vs ??? & ??? Interview w/Dusty Rhodes (Mentioned only because he reveals the fate of Floyd the horse here, a mystery ever since Baby Doll rode off on him more than a month earlier) Tully Blanchard vs Ricky Reeves Barbarian & Abdullah the Butcher vs Mark Fleming & Ben Alexander Terry Taylor vs Ron Rossi (clipped)
